I’m pretty stoked to have Eric Allen on the show this week! I knew there was something about his style that I was drawn to, and as we chatted a bit more about some of his influences and styles, there seemed to be a common theme: high energy stuff that stays interesting. Probably the most fascinating thing was that, with such a similar taste in music, several of the artists he plays aren’t even on my radar! You can be sure that I’ll spend the rest of the week trolling through some of the artists and labels that he played on tonight’s show.

Last year I did the first Trance Fusion mix. It earned the title as it seemed to cross over between several different sub-genres of trance. It was a favorite, especially among some close friends, and so when I gave this mix a second listen, it seemed to be a great follow up. The acid-breaks bring back memories of the warehouse days, before the parties were forced to become more legit. There’s definitely some progressive psychedelic influence, but in a way that should appeal to hard trance and tech trance fans too.
