This week was a blast as Peter Allgood dropped by the studio again. I had some flashbacks to the mid-90s during his set. All good Caddyshack laid down some pretty killer builds and then ripped it sideways into dirty breaks and some classic mashups. And me… I just played a little psytrance to get things rolling

Oh… and I forgot to mention, I included part of Robots in Disguise by local Vancouver DJ Glassball. Robots in disguise is a freakin’ killer dubstep mix with transformers samples throughout. Glassball also spins psytrance and will be on the show next week (Jan 29, 2011).

Also upcoming, dj Eric Allen will be on the show Feb 5, 2011. It looks like Trancendance might be a two and a half hour live show from now on

dj Caddyshack Epic Trance Mix

I have no freakin’ idea what he played last week. I’ll just call it a super secret tracklist

I played Full On psytrance and it’s a good set, but Caddyshack’s set this week is freakin’ mind blowing!

This week I discovered a group named Psy Craft (or Psycraft), which seem to have an awesome blend of full on vocal psytrance. I also played some borderline psychedelic thrash metal by Mystical Complex. Together it made for a pretty diverse range of psychedelic mayhem.

Caddyshack however managed to dig up some of the best trance anthem mashups that I’ve heard in ages, and wove them together into a masterful set. Do NOT miss his set! The music only version is available for free download from his Soundcloud account (for a limited time).

So I started going through my vinyl collection yesterday. I used to do it all the time. Now it only happens once a year, if that. Anyways, I came across a ton of rare white labels and test pressings, started looking up tracks on discogs and seeing if anything was available on iTunes. There were lots of bootlegs and test pressings that just aren’t available from the digital stores, but it inspired this trance anthem mix.

I was overdue for a real bangin hard trance set, so tonight started to get it out. It took a couple records to get back in the groove, and of course, even after some 15 years or so of DJing, I forgot to check a needle, and sure enough it was jammed full of dust. But after the first couple records, I was back into it and having a blast.

Now Caddyshack’s set is NOT to be missed this week! Wicked track selection and very nicely put together. What style you ask? Well, Caddyshack’s kind of been known to cross styles. There’s some epic trance, some vocals, some acid trance… it’s just everything good rolled into one.
