For almost 10 years Trancendance has brought you nearly all subgenres of trance music, continuously mixed for the most part. Caddyshack really steals the show this week! It’s been awhile since he played a Drum and Bass set and it put a huge smile on my face as soon as he dropped the first track. Don’t miss his mix in the second part of the show that seems to slide back and forth between Drum and Bass and Jungle.

I wasn’t sure how my set turned out this week. I switched it up after being in the psychedelic zone for the past few weeks, and to be quite honest, I barely listened to any of the tracks in this week’s set before the show. A lot of the magic is in the tracks themselves this week. Most of my set features hard trance sounds with the twist of having unique breakdowns that include everything from phat almost crunky beats, to the killer bootleg remix by Organ Donors (what is that from?)

This week I tackle mixing on 3 decks, or as close as I can get at the radio station. The studio here has a Rane Serato SL-3 which has a built in SP-6 sampler. So I can play triples where I start with the samples track and then mix two tracks into it. Unfortunately the studio here only has a 2 channel mixer, so it’s a little tricky mixing 3 audio sources with only 2 faders. Some of the mixes are a little rough around the edges, but I’m pretty sure some of the triples worked out pretty well, so it’s just a matter of refining them. I think you’ll see more 3 deck mixes from me soon. Maybe even a CD this summer.

Caddyshack has gone full on into a hardcore drum and bass phase, which I am loving. His taste in music has traditionally been very similar to mine, so all the tracks he’s been searching out have the kind of sounds and elements that I like.
