Wow, after a terrible experience on Saturday trying to mix with CDJs, it felt great to lay down a killer epic journey for tonight’s podcast. It’s got the melodic and uplifting breakdowns, some stomping hard beats that deliver when they’re supposed to, and some throwback remixes of some classic trance anthems including I Feel Love by CRW and a remix of Urban Hype’s A Trip to Trumpton by Toryn D. This is the set inspired by the Spirit of Squamish where the circle once again returned to gather on Saturday. It was so good to see so many old friends and, as always, make a few new ones too!

I’m listening to the first third of this weeks podcast right now and watching Metrotown pass by while I ride the train through the blue sky on my way back from another busy day that started off with three hours of dentistry this morning. So now you get why this week’s show is untitled. I could have called it the Froster.ca launch show, but that seemed a little too corporate. Yeah – I do have a day job, and this week I was right in the middle of it during the show. How is that possible, given that the show airs from 10pm – Midnight in my timezone? Well, let’s just say I’m a dedicated employee that is lucky enough to work with some pretty dedicated people.

Sorry I missed last week’s show. This week was going to be a remix of three weeks ago but at the 11th hour I started pulling out records and the set seemed to be taking a more classic trance anthem feel. I’ve always had a handful of records that are brilliant but seemingly impossible to mix. This week I brought 5 or 6 of them and overall things didn’t go to badly. The first mix was a little forced but then things smooth out a little better.

Well this week’s show was a bit of a juggling act to get off the ground. CiTR has come a long way in updating the equipment in the on-air studio over the past few years – but I encountered some technical problems early in the show that resulted in a minute or two of dead air part-way into my set. The culprit? Almost broken – then completely broken RCA cables. But the show must go on – and it does. Technical issues finally get fixed by the 32 min mark.

Anyways, I haven’t given it my second listen yet but I know there’s at least a few good mixes and at least a few wobbles. If you read my last podcast post regarding phrasing – there’s at least one really well phrased mix in this set. I’ll post the time code when I get around to listening to it.

I think I’ll have trouble posting the exact playlist in order because I did go back and forth a fair bit, but I’ll post some of the tracks in this mix a little later. There’s quite a few classic trance anthems from years back that have been remixed and added into this week’s mix.

Oh, and the show got started about 20 minutes early, so it’s a bit of an extended set this week.
