My featured artists this week are Ephidrex, a Psy Trance group from Mortsel, Belgium comprised of Jochem Peeters & Joris Marckx. These guys have several releases on Dacru Records, a psy-trance label located in Ghent, Belgium that’s managed by Koen Van Cauwenbergh (Eskimo) and Bert De Decker, better known as DJ Nemesis. I happened across Dacru Records after tracking down releases from Electro Sun, a psy-trance DJ from Beer Sheva, South of Israel, who happens to be my other featured artist this week.

Caddyshack pulled out some tracks that date back, even before the classics, to early rave tracks. Cosmic Baby’s Space Track is unmistakable – but Caddyshack pulls another surprise remix intro! An interesting note on Cosmic Baby – Harald Blüchel was born at Feb 19, 1963 in Nuremberg, and classically trained as a concert pianist who began playing at the Nuremberg Conservatory when he was only 7 years old!

Deep into my PsyTrance kick, I feature three brand new psytrance albums fresh out of the studio. The first four tracks are from Disco Hooligans (Nectarios Meidanis & Jordan Bonyo) Darjeeling Express album, which is available for free download from Ektoplasm. The next three tracks are from the self-titled album Indigo (Isao Sudo & Takashi Sudo of Japan) which was released in January on the Spanish Psy-Trance record label Nutek Records. Finally three tracks from the October 2009 release Everyone Equal by Israeli brothers Tal and Idan Edi on UK PsyTrance label Phantasm.

I’m listening to the first third of this weeks podcast right now and watching Metrotown pass by while I ride the train through the blue sky on my way back from another busy day that started off with three hours of dentistry this morning. So now you get why this week’s show is untitled. I could have called it the Froster.ca launch show, but that seemed a little too corporate. Yeah – I do have a day job, and this week I was right in the middle of it during the show. How is that possible, given that the show airs from 10pm – Midnight in my timezone? Well, let’s just say I’m a dedicated employee that is lucky enough to work with some pretty dedicated people.

Alright, so none of that really has to do with anything musical. What’s on the decks this week? I’m still well into my PsyTrance kick. Steve played some of the wonkiest, most twisted trance I’ve ever heard (sorry, I wasn’t able to capture the track list), and Caddyshack dropped a fine mix of old-made-new epic trance.

Another smashing week with an extended 3hr show! This week my set features remixes of classic trance anthems and trance mash-ups that should send shivers down your spine and leave your whole body tingling! I’ve always liked the heavy remixes and mash-ups, but often they’re on the lighter side. Not this set! At 145bpm it’s an epic PsyTrance set not to be missed! Tell your friends!
