Wow, after a terrible experience on Saturday trying to mix with CDJs, it felt great to lay down a killer epic journey for tonight’s podcast. It’s got the melodic and uplifting breakdowns, some stomping hard beats that deliver when they’re supposed to, and some throwback remixes of some classic trance anthems including I Feel Love by CRW and a remix of Urban Hype’s A Trip to Trumpton by Toryn D. This is the set inspired by the Spirit of Squamish where the circle once again returned to gather on Saturday. It was so good to see so many old friends and, as always, make a few new ones too!

Just before the show this week I discovered two albums worth picking up. Usually I only like one or two tracks off an album, but these two are fantastic all the way through. The first feature album is “Love Machine” by a group called Save the Robot. Save the Robot is made up of Ari Linker (also known as Alien Project) and Ido Liran (also known as Quadra). It’s not surprising since I discovered Alien Project a few weeks ago after falling in love with their “Activation Portal” album, and along the way I found a few tracks by Quadra that were equally rich. I can only hope we see/hear more from these guys!
The second album featured is by non other than Quadra. After the first few tracks that caught my interest, IU went looking for more and found their “Voice of Reason” album. We live in the era of music download sites like iTunes and Track it Down, where you can pick and choose which songs you want for as low as 99 cents – so I know an album has to be exceptional when I fork out for the whole damn thing!
So I’m just the first third of this week’s mix. Caddyshack and Steve Krueger lay down breaks and deep trance sets to make it a 3 hour show this week. If you like the show, don’t just download – subscribe in iTunes – it looks good in the radio station stats!

Epic Trance
Well, it’s definitely better than most of the shows in the past 6 months. I’ve had some good parts of shows but there always seems to be some considerable screw-up that keeps me from posting the mix in the sidebar as a featured podcast.
The first mix is likely the shakiest and as the show goes on it just gets better and better until the last 45 minutes are really solid.
The first half is more deep pulsing layered trance that slowly builds. The second half is a little harder and a little more epic with some big ups and downs and several trance anthem remixes from over the years.

Lots of fresh trance this week although some of it was previewed last week. First half of the show went down much smoother than the second half. More vocal trance than I usually play, but several of these vocal tracks don’t overdo it and they still have a rougher electro feel to them so they seem to satisfy my taste. Two of the new records that are already standing out to me are the Judge Jules and BK collaboration on Riot Recordings. You might recognize BK from some of the Nukleuz tracks I play in the Hard Trance sets. The other is the Peter Luts Remix of Inspiration.
