This is supposedly the last Nukleuz Records set for awhile. I don’t know if I can stick to my promise or not. I don’t want to subject you guys to the same tracks week after week, but after giving the first hour a second listen this morning I was pleasantly surprised. There’s a lot of decent mixing in the first hour (I’m a perfectionist so you won’t often hear me praise my own mixing) but I was pretty disheartened after the first colossal trainwreck. It wasn’t so much a trainwreck of a mix as the golden mistake of cuing the record with the level all the way up. Argh!

I find at the radio station I’ve been mixing more with the gain knobs than usual. I like it – but you really have to watch that the level slider isn’t left up when you start to cue the next record. 

All in all it was a good listen.

The second hour is a bunch of B-Sides thrown together. The radio show has always been about having fun for me and the second hour is just me playing around with a bunch of records that I have rarely if ever played.

Easter long weekend is just another excuse for an extended show! The first two hours is uninterrupted and journeys from PsyTrance into Hard Trance, then through some heavily remixed Trance Classics before weaving back into PsyTrance and then finishing with some more Hard Trance.

Caddyshack discovered Drum n Bass last week and goes mental this week in what may very well be his first ever Hard Drum and Bass set.

It’s been just a month or two since we finally went all digital. Still using Technics 1200s with a vinyl interface but now connected to a Macbook running Serato — the potential seems to have blown through the roof. The colour coded waveform is perhaps the biggest advancement in DJing since the 1200s. What a difference, and what a great visual representation of the music.

dj Caddyshack’s tracklist is super secret.

Well, it’s definitely better than most of the shows in the past 6 months. I’ve had some good parts of shows but there always seems to be some considerable screw-up that keeps me from posting the mix in the sidebar as a featured podcast.

The first mix is likely the shakiest and as the show goes on it just gets better and better until the last 45 minutes are really solid.

The first half is more deep pulsing layered trance that slowly builds. The second half is a little harder and a little more epic with some big ups and downs and several trance anthem remixes from over the years.
